Wrapping up 2025: Navigating in a challenging year

In 2025, SweGaN focused on resilience, investing in long-term strategies to build a strong foundation for sustainable growth

In 2025, global macroeconomic uncertainty affected many industries. In this challenging environment, SweGaN has focused on resilience over rapid growth. We have invested in strategic initiatives essential for long-term success, even though the impact will unfold over time. These deliberate actions position us to seize future opportunities. Despite the headwinds, SweGaN has advanced to build a foundation for sustainable growth.

2025 Highlights

Business Achievements

Significant progress in the qualification process:
Our business development in 2025 was also affected by macroeconomic uncertainty, leading some of our customers to defer or pause their product development timelines and reallocate resources. Even so, we achieved multiple design-ins for customers’ existing and new technologies, and continued to pursue design-win opportunities.

Volume Production Validation:
We established volume production capability with the expected contribution margin. We successfully marked a critical step toward scaling operations, validating our capability to full-rate production.

Expanding Projects Portfolio
Although SweGaN advanced its business development, we continued to allocate significant resources to R&D. Ongoing projects, such as CLOSER, SGANNEXT, and ALL2GAN, are progressing successfully. In addition, several new initiatives, such as GaN6+, were launched in collaboration with commercial and academic partners have commenced this year, further strengthening our innovation pipeline for the applications in telecom, defense, aerospace and power.

New talents joined SweGaN:
SweGaN continued to grow and refine our organization in 2025. We welcomed several new colleagues whose expertise and fresh perspectives strengthen SweGaN’s ability to innovate and grow, while managing natural turnover.

Strategy and Finance Highlights

Board Transformation:
SweGaN has strengthened its leadership with two strategic appointments. Pontus de Laval, Senior Advisor at Knut & Alice Wallenberg Foundation, has been named Chairman of the Board. In addition, renowned Swedish industrialist Leif Johansson has joined the board as a non-executive director. Both bring exceptional industrial expertise, and together with other recent additions, these appointments mark a new phase of growth and strategic direction for SweGaN.

Finance:
During the fiscal year of 2025 we have maintained our revenue level from the year before and although we aimed for a year of growth, we are humbled by the macroeconomic events that shaped the year, but on the flipside, we are confident looking ahead and going into 2026.

Outlook

In the coming year, we will build on the momentum to achieve design-wins and strengthen our market position to pursue global business growth with a clear focus on building long-term partnerships. To achieve this, we will prioritize key accounts that share our commitment to sustained collaboration.
